Guiness World Record For Barbados

Barbados received a Guiness World Record for having the most ocean rowers in January 2008. The award was presented at a ceremony hosted by the Ocean Rowers Society.

101 people rowed the Atlantic to Barbados, a distance of 2550 nautical miles.

Barbados will be the destination of the 2010 Atlantic Rowers Race.

CROP OVER CARNIVAL UPDATES

COHOBBLOPOT (Crop Over carnival extravaganza consisting of music, dance, costumes) 2008, promises to be very electrifying. This spectacular event takes place on August 3rd.

Trinidadian soca stars Machel Montano will be headlining and appearing, Patricia Roberts and David Rudder.

It is rumored that Trinidadian cricket star Brian Lara will be hosting his annual grand carnival fete at the Cohobblopot event in the 3w’s stand. Admission is believed to be $175 (Barbados). This includes food and drink The price of all other stands remains $50. This international event is always outstanding and this year promises to be even more sensational. TRINIDAD in the house!

RIHANNA to donate artifact to the Barbados Museum

Grammy Award-Winning Songbird is now into philantrophy. The Barbadian superstar has donated an artifact to the Barbados Museum and Historical Society, which will go on display later this month. The piece, which has not been revealed to the public, forms part of an exhibition as the Museum celebrates its 75th anniversary.

As soon as I get more information on what this artifact is I will let you know.
